💖 Mermaid of Dance 💖

"Newborn's Wish."

A year ago on December 16, 2019 I lost my son and best friend Jasper. I have been thinking about him a lot lately as well as my mom who passed away 3 months ago. It feels surreal how much I have lost and gained this past year. Jasper was almost 6 years old when he left our world. Even though he was never sick, still young, and was extremely healthy, my boy developed cancer that took him from me. I brought him in early and tried my best to help him recover and was prepared too sacrifice everything for him to get better. After 2 surgeries the cancer still came back. Jasper was so resilient, even when he became paralyzed. His ears were perked up and he would hop excitedly to me when I called. On his last day though, he had no more energy as it came so fast. I did not sleep and stayed by his side all night petting him, talking to him and cleaning him up. Jasper was an extremely special Netherland Dwarf that was not like any other creature I have encountered. He had sentience, intellegience, ego, and understanding of humans. He thrived in agility, loved to compete, and was the most independent little bean. He free roamed my home, never left a mess, would help me get up in the mornings, and even would bring me a piece of hay to let me know he is hungry. Jasper changed my life and continues to inspire me. As the new year starts to begin, I can't help but reflect on the good and sad times. The pain is still strong but I will never forget and will continue to live as best I can. 💜💫 I love you my little man.

The evening mom passed I went home and started to draw. I revisited the page I dedicated to her in my sketchbook and colored it with the cheerful colors I use for The Jolly Jawbreaker. This Friday mom would have had her 50th birthday. Happy early birthday mom. 💖💫
